The Australian Climate Change Science Programme (ACCSP) was the Australian Government’s largest and longest climate change science programme, running from 1989 until 2016.
The programme was jointly run by the Department of the Environment and Energy, CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology, and also supported work with the Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science, Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre and Australian Academy of Science.
ACCSP research has been crucial to understanding our climate and how it will change in the future, with the information from the Programme used by the Australian Government for mitigation, adaptation and global solution strategies to better protect our environment and communities.
The ACCSP concluded on 30 June 2016.
