Interests and Research:I am currently working on the Bureau's POAMA model for seasonal forecasting. I have introduced a new atmosphere-land initialisation scheme into POAMA. Initial results of this work are described in this poster and presentation. Prior to this I was in the Model Development Group of BMRC working on the land surface scheme in the climate-version of the BMRC AGCM. July 2000 - December 2002: Research Scientist, Hadley Centre, Met Office, UK. I was contracted to work at the Hadley Centre on a project involving the configuration and use of the Hadley Centre regional climate model (RCM) for southern Africa. January 1999 - June 2000: Lecturer, Department of Environmental and Geographical Science, University of Cape Town, South Africa. Specialty: Climatology (Climate Systems Analysis Group).
