An international workshop to review the network has been planned for Tuesday 10th August to Thursday 12th August inclusive. A smaller meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) will be held on Friday 13th (lucky for some!) to review the results from the workshop, redraft the report, and draft recommendations arising from the workshop to be presented at the "International Conference on The Ocean Observing System for Climate".

The venue is the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, 150 Lonsdale Street in Melbourne, which is in the city centre. A block of rooms has been reserved across the road at the Hotel Grand Chancellor (Tel: +61 3 9663 3161; Fax: +61 3 9662 3479) for those who wish to be close to the meeting venue and also take advantage of the city centre facilities (numerous restaurants at your door step, etc). Please make bookings with the hotel directly yourself. If you quote confirmation number 4503 when making your booking, you will receive the special discount rate of AUS$100/night for a standard room. This also entitles you to a discount rate of AUS$14 for a full hot buffet breakfast. Bookings must be made at least 14 days prior, and payment details provided 7 days prior to the arrival date to get these rates.
