From the qscat and the EC anals a massive low developed south of Tahiti  a
week ago. Waves with 18 sec peak energy period reached the Qld waverider
bouys Saturday (8th May) The attached NSW bouy data  shows this long period
swell also reached as far south as the Bateman Bay bouy it was not evident
on the Eden Buoy. To the north there is evidence of it on the Emu Park Buoy
near Rockhampton. Reaching the Bateman Bay buoy was extraordinary as much
of the swell was truncated by NZ.
